LUISA (Louise Wight-Boycott) is an artist and military spouse living in Scotland. Her creative musical vision has been formed through her classical upbringing mixed with sound recordings and her experience from living overseas. 

Her journey started in 2019 with her family in Tbilisi, Georgia. She travelled from the high Caucasus mountains to the Black Sea coast. She visited both Yerevan, Armenia, with streets lined with colourful carpets, and Baku, Azerbaijan, “the land of fire”, with its smells of oil. In 2020 she moved to Minsk, Belarus, grand, clean, orderly. Covid struck but in Belarus was described as a psychosis to be cured "drinking vodka and driving a tractor". Days were isolating, spent walking in forests, the winter was cold. This was followed by a rigged presidential election that brought a million people to the streets. As the situation worsened, her family had to leave, to the safety of Kyiv, Ukraine. Ukraine is beautiful. mountains, rivers, beaches and summer was spent driving 1000km from one side to the other.  After only a few months, her family were evacuated to Albania, February 2022. 2022-25 was spent in Tirana, Albania where she witnessed rapid development and tourism. She explored Montenegro, with its Adriatic coastline and fortresses. Also Kosovo, in the heart of the Balkans with its skyline dominated by minarets. She visited Greece and recorded cicadas, the gentle lapping of waves, distant church bells and island life. 

Through each country she collected different folk instruments, and recorded street artists, music and culture and has blended this through her album Wanderlust. It was shortlisted for the 2025 Music Production Composer Spotlight award! 

Now back in the UK, LUISA is composing music made with sound recordings from Scotland.
